PAAS - Sustainable Environmental Audit Program (for its acronym in Spanish)
has been certified as a green building by PAAS (formerly called PCES, Green Building Program Certification, for its acronym in Spanish), awarded by the Ministry of Environment of Mexico City.
In this certification all the actions that promotes and encourages best production practices with the use of eco-efficient technologies and energy efficiency alternative in the industrial, commercial, services, and housing sectors are audited, which in addition to protect the environment and natural resources, a higher environmental legislation and regulations compliance are obtained.
What is PAAS?
It is an instrument that is intended to transform and adapt current and future buildings under schemes based on the criteria of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency; and aims to contribute to the conservation and preservation of natural resources in benefit of the society by improving the life quality of Mexico City inhabitants.
How it works?
The environmental audit is a self-regulation program of the Ministry of Environment, aimed to transform and adapt buildings in the design, construction, renovation and operation stage, based on sustainability and environmental efficiency schemes. In which it is evaluated in a comprehensive manner in matters of pollution, risks and performance of the building to establish preventive and corrective measures necessary to protect the natural resources and the environment. This program applies to all buildings for residential use and offices.
Why PAAS?
It promotes and encourages the reduction of pollutants emissions and the efficient use of natural resources in the design and operation of buildings in Mexico City, based on environmental sustainability and efficiency criteria. Through the implementation and certification of a voluntary regulation process in which is rewarded by granting tax incentives referred in the Tax Code of Mexico City.
